Practicing under clinical supervision

Practical Experience & Clinical Insight: My career has been defined by a deep commitment to child development and family support. With over two decades in education across Canada and the Middle East as a classroom teacher, guidance counsellor, school administrator, and preschool owner, I bring a practical perspective to my evidence-based approach to therapy.

Neurodiversity & School Support: My background includes extensive experience supporting neurodivergent individuals and families, including those with ADHD and Autism (ASD), using a neuro-informed approach to support. Drawing on my history in education, as well as my MACP studies, I support parents and children navigating their needs at both home and school, including the ILP/IEP process.

Note: I focus on therapeutic support and skill-building. I do not provide formal diagnostic assessments, but I am happy to collaborate with your child’s clinical and school teams.

The Person Behind the Parent: For a family to thrive, the caregivers must be supported as individuals, too. My practice provides a dedicated space to go beyond your parenting role to focus on your own well-being. Whether you are navigating caregiver burnout, processing the complexities of the adult experience, or seeking self-discovery and personal growth, I offer a supportive environment to explore these challenges. Using an evidence-based approach, I work with parents and caregivers to manage the mental and emotional load of their roles.

Approach to Supporting Children and Parents: My clinical work is an extension of my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) and Master of Science in Education (M.S.Ed.). I believe that building the tools to navigate emotions is the foundation for managing them. By blending clinical insight with a person-centred approach, I create a supportive space for children and youth to explore their mental well-being and practice coping strategies using creative and interactive methods.

While my direct work with children focuses on ages 8 and up, I work with parents of younger children to support emotional well-being at home. I often incorporate bibliotherapy into these sessions, using literature and storytelling to help families externalize challenges and develop a shared language for their experiences.
